Over the next two years INOVA+, together with six other European organizations will carry out an ambitious project – Learn&Fly – which aims to open the world of the aeronautics sector to the young.
The Learn&Fly project addresses underachievement in basic skills related to STEM topics (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) using innovative and engaging teaching methods related to Aeronautics.
Teaching materials will be developed (Learn&Fly STEM Kit – O1) for teachers to use in different subjects in their classes. Concentrating on the aviation sector, one of the most completive in Europe, will also contribute to promote entrepreneurship education. The Learn&Fly STEM Kit exercises and materials will lay on the idea goal of building an airplane with simple materials and then test how it flight.
This is a practical and engaging activity, which can be associated to a wider challenge (Learn&Fly challenge – O3), where students from different schools and even from different countries will collaborate and/or compete and learn at the same time. The Learn&Fly Careers Kit (O2) will complement the above-mentioned materials (O1 and O3) by providing concrete information about possible education, training and career paths in the field of aeronautics. This will provide a valuable guidance not only for students, but also for teachers, careers counsellors and parents. Dedicated sessions will be organised:
- Six National Multiplier Events – To present these materials to teachers and other stakeholders;
- International multiplayer event – Workshop for teachers enhancing teachers’ professional development and supporting teachers in adopting collaborative and innovative practices.
- Mobility – Pupils from Spain and Portugal visit Poland for the final of the Learn& fly challenge. This will be a week full of activities.
